The assessment criteria of the 100 Taste of Seoul 2022 centered on discovering and nurturing Seoul’s unique gourmet content by delivering values, such as glocalism (globalization + localization), virality, and professionality. This year’s 100 Taste of Seoul has seven food categories: Korean (23 places), Western (26), Asian (10), Grill (8), Plant-based (9), Café & Dessert (11), and Bar & Pub (13). Notable places included in the list are Nam Do Jecheol (Korean), Gucci Osteria Seoul (Western), Gaehanggak (Asian), Namyeongdon (Grill), Forest Kitchen (Plant-based), Atelier Pond (Café & Dessert), Seoul Gypsy (Bar & Pub), and Vingle (Bar & Pub). Particularly for this year, Seoul announces the 50 best plant-based restaurants in addition to the 100 Taste of Seoul. Since the vegetarian diet is trending in the global culinary tourism sector and Seoul has a long history of traditional food and Buddhist temple dishes, restaurants on the list are expected to receive much love from citizens and tourists. ▲ Taste of Seoul 2022 Official Poster The SMG will publish the 100 Taste of Seoul as Seoul Gourmet Guide in Korean and English.
